stance...continued, modification to the front subframe to orient the suspension arms

there is a ton of controversy on the forums regarding the tension within the e21 community...the tension is over the legitimacy of lowered or 'stance' e21's and 'grip' performance motivated hobbyist...understandably, the stance crowded is made up of many younger enthusiast and the performance motivated hobbyist are predictably older...while my opinion is that in the same ways i don't fully understand chopping an antique so it is with lowering...i like the look but i am also concerned that performance for the sake of safety is also critically important...the pics below are an abrevation of the idea that this guy has come up with...it appears to be a light modification of the front subframe allowing the suspension, while lowered to maintain its near stock geometry...interesting idea.

...suspension arm is 'bottomed-out'....in a lowered car....

...he moved the mounting hole....

...encased the 'raised' boxes welded into place allowing the suspension arms to raise up above the front sub-frame center line...

...the opposite side view...

...finished product, tac welded into place...
