notice that while the s14 support bracket is different some argue that the support bracket is not necessary...i wonder why bmw spent millions in design, engineering, and manufacturing the bracket...take the time and get the right parts...

Guillermo...i can't say how much each starter weighs, but its a substantial difference i can tell you that, i haven't used the starter i only bought it a few days ago from a guy on the forums here who bought it new and left it on the shelf in his garage...but from everything i read the starting power is a lot greater in the smaller s14 starter...what i do not have is the mounting bracket...i might have to buy it straight from bmw...as you can see the m10 starter bracket will not fit...some say mount it without the bracket, its small enough not to matter...i think bmw would not have spent the time and money if it were not needed...time will tell...thanks for your comment
