The rear seats in the picture directly above is from a 1972 BMW 3.0...obviously, this is the trend i am looking for in my latter model 1977 320i...

 The photo above illustrates what i see as the natural progression in euro interior designs....as you can see the bmw rear seating progressed over the years the photo above is the rear seating of a 2002 Maserati Coupe Cambiocorsa...very interesting progression...i not only like the Maserati design...the similarities between the Maserati and the older 635i/e24 are clear...

The 1937 BMW 328 Mille Miglia Vintage Sports Car

On May 1st, the RM Auctions will be putting this one-of-a-kind vintage BMW sports car under the gavel. The 1937 BMW 328 MIlle Miglia is the original ancestor of the BMW 3-series, a lightweight, small engine speedster that was produced from 1936 up through the beginning of the second World War. "otto" goes to the paint shop in 2 weeks...i got the euro rear valance panels from wallothnesch yesterday...i'm nervous and excited at that same time...

I am going to 'shave' the marker lights, tacking a small piece of covering sheet metal to fill the holes

The early models had sheet metal covering plates, later replaced with plastic covering plates (center) my '77 had 'some' light corrosion and i was planning on replacing them with the plastic versions, but i found another '77 in a cleveland garage that were perfect and came with the fenders i bought...oh yeah i lost the original fenders in a move!!!

The beneath rear valance that is typically covered with the black plastic is this rippled sheet metal

Subframe re-installed with new mounts, new wheel bearing and seals, painted and awaiting brakes ready for paint!

she isn't perfect....but with a few beers in ya, she looks great...

brake pads

i swapped out the rear drum brakes when i changed the trailing arms...i have mentioned this before but its worth mentioning again...the only reason for changing the rear trailing arms from the 320i arms to the 323i trailing arms is the disc brakes...i changed mine and while the subframe was on the garage floor i also changed the rubber mounts in exchange for the neoprene supports...

the subframe and neoprene mounts have now been installed...the car is rolling again..(without output shafts or brake lines, pads...i'm thinking of installing hawk hps brake pads...they seem to be about as good as it gets...

euro rear valances...

over at stanceworks.com there are some pretty sweet wheels...i saw this 318 and fell in love...the rear euro apron and bumper change the entire look of the car...not to mention the removal of the black plastic between the tail lights...nice car!

Notice the dual exhaust on this 323i...the car was only sold in europe, featuring a 2.3L 6-cyl engine with a dual exhaust...nice car!

mono wiper?....

 
i have been considering a mono wiper for the e21...several thoughts have arisen...first, like with most customizations...how extensive should this mod be...meaning do i want to invest in a new custom made wiper cover...that has the second wiper motor hole deleted...or should i plug the other wiper hole?...this would obviously involve painting the new visible sheet metal that is right below the windshield...or...remove the old wiper mechanism and buy something like the kit below...my wipers are extremely slow so one way or another i need to do something...
