the issue of paint color...specifically, red is something that has been sitting on the back burner of my mind from the drive to pittsburgh from hollywood...

red is extremely hard to pick because my experience is to often when i ask owners the actual ppg color or something similar...they 'farmed' the work out and they don't have a clue...often people buy their cars 'finished' and the color was selected by the previous owners...

while i'm posting for the record here...let me say just for the record...i should confess that RED is NOT my first choice...in fact there are many colors that i prefer over RED...but while i don't prefer like red as a first choice, i dislike changing any car's original color worse than my general aversion to RED...this 320i isn't my first restoration...but...i've never had a car that was 'finished'...i'm just sayin...that's a weird answer to me...

this Brilliantrot 1990 325iS e30 is a solid color that i've considered...the current paint color is Korral and its a '90's color...the car was 'refreshed' in the '90's which explains its higher mileage, and good condition...the '90's cosmetic refresh was pivotal to this deeper restoration i've been attempting...

my mind changes constantly when it comes to color...today, brillantrot is pretty appealing.

this is a 2002 painted with Valencia Orange, an exclusive BMW color, available on the new BMW 2012 1-Series M Coupe...i love the color, in fact i like it so much i'm considering painting my e21 this color instead of the original bmw korall...interestingly, in my search for colors i've discovered the following about the bmw color korall...

this implies my car was resprayed at some point between 1998 and 2000, which somewhat dates a previous restoration attempt...interesting. i searched the international BMW site and found this 6-Series M Coupe. [Sakhir Orange] is the listed 6-Series color...while the 1 Series is the listed paint color the 6 Series Sakhir Orange seems more close on the computer monitor...

..in the 70's cars began to be the subject of art expression...this is alexander calder's interpretation....the german flag and the german product merger here with a red/yellow/blue/white color scheme that works for me...not practical really but attractive nonetheless...

the color on this 320/6 is what makes this car attractive in my mind...i love the euro bumpers, but you can keep the dual headlights...

the rear of this car is clean, the euro bumpers, euro sheet metal, and naked trunk deck are exemplary of what this era bmw looks like at its best

The paint, trim and bbs rs wheels are the finishing touch that sets this car apart from the masses of 'daily drivers'...these characteristics are what take this car to 'show' class...
