Brinkmeyern Front Spoiler

i ran across an ad for an automotive brochure for sale and found it fancinating that the front spoiler on this e21 was one i have never seen...my opinion on front spoilers change with the wind...or...at least the photography...this doesn't really offer much in terms of photography...but i still like the front end...

245 Getrag - 5 Speed Transmission

This is a 245 getrag 5 speed transmission that i am installing in the '77...replacing the 4 speed stock transmission...the transmission was disassembled, the case was placed in a hot caustic tank for 24 hrs but some of the dirt and pits would not come out and i didn't want to paint it...then replacing all 6 new bronze synchronizers, oil seals, clutch slave cylinder, and the reverse switch...

over on the bimmerforums.com there is significant conversation brewing around the idea of creating a 2012 calendar with member cars...there are a lot of NICE cars on that forum...however, in my opinion this is the centerfold or money shot...this is a guy only known to me as TomD...this is however is not only a great shot of an e21...this is in my opinion what those forums are about...when i restored my model 'A' ford the car spent most of its life in this condition and those casual days of just 'piddling'...that is having a place to stand, surround with wrenches, memories of growing up in a garage and the mechanic that raised me...even when i'm there not doing a single thing considered "work" it is my place of silence, solitude...reflection...it has ALWAYS been a place where i thought more than worked...i'm rambling...i love this picture because once a restoration is completed...it may seem obvious, but its over...
